Karma: How It Began

By Lisa Eve

I am in love with life itself. The opportunity to change lives, one day at a time. You know, we all have the power to do good in our lives. Often, though, we are not being judged by anyone but ourselves. We compare ourselves to others, and that’s how we rank ourselves. What if the ranking were based solely on our soul’s journey?

What if your life was a series of ins and outs, propelling you to be the best version of yourself in every moment? What if the good grades you got in school were helping you to see your true power, that you can commit to succeeding in a certain way? And what if not getting good grades in school helped you to see where you may want to focus your attention, maybe somewhere else where you can shine? Just because we’re not good in a particular area of school doesn’t mean we’re bad. Maybe it’s just not your subject to follow.

If we go down rabbit holes that others have guided us into, maybe even peer pressured us into, we might do things that don’t serve us or help our humanity excel. This can erode our souls’ natural path to love one another. Then we have to climb our way out of the hole, one way or another, to make it right. To come clean. To educate ourselves on the true way, the way of love, kindness, and service.

As we learn on our paths, we may see how our actions affected others. The problem is we can’t see ALL the times we hurt another until we transition and cross over from human being to pure spirit. Then we get it. Then we see.

Oftentimes, we want to have better lives while we’re alive, and the best way forward is by loving ourselves so we can love others. I may sound like a broken record. The number of times I have said, and will continue to say, that the path to happiness is loving ourselves first may be annoying, but one day you will see. If you start the path of your own happiness, putting yourself first, taking care of your heart, and empowering yourself to clear away everything that does not feel good, you will feel it. You will see and feel for yourself that there was always another way.

It can be hard in this world to focus on the good when there is so much bad happening. As much as you can, limit how much of the bad you take in. Mainstream news can have you questioning your worth every day, and it promotes fear. Fear creates division and lack. From this place, it can be difficult to see clearly, to right yourself, to stand up tall, and to be proud of who you are without taking on the thoughts of others about how you should be.

When I first started my journey from lack to love, it was a challenge. I constantly doubted myself and constantly sought outside opinions on how I should do life. I often called psychics, shamans, and anyone who could help me feel better about the path I was embarking on, or help me see straight. While this was helpful at first, there were times when what they said didn’t align, and I fell into a deeper pit than where I started. Not every time, just sometimes. So I would feel stronger, then ask for guidance, and sometimes it felt good and other times, no.

While in my pit of despair, strangers would approach me and tell me I needed help, their help, to clear things from my path. I would blindly go. I would trust a stranger because I was feeling so insecure about myself that at any shred of evidence they were correct, I would believe all they had to say about me. After spending so much money on the right cure, the right tool, the right “reverse this magic and you’ll be free” service, I realized the truth was always within me, and only me. I just had to believe in myself.

Sure, we may have karma with people in our lives, from this life and past ones, and what if we could just start believing in ourselves? Fill our cups with love first, and then pour love into others?!

Maybe we can start trusting ourselves more. We often give away our power, hold others at fault for our choices, and step on many toes on the path to seeking validation. What if you could do it with integrity? Lead with your heart first?

Everybody on this planet has the power to do what they want. Get to a certain age and you can think your way out of something, or think your way INTO something, which could be detrimental, or positive and life-fulfilling.

Either way, you need to believe first. Believe in yourself.

This episode was inspired by a reading I had from the Indian Palm Leaf Reading Institute. I discovered it through Joni Patry, a Vedic astrologer with a presence on YouTube. If you like astrology, it’s a great tool to help you navigate life. I like it because it’s based on my birth chart, not someone’s limited perspective of who they think I should be. I’ve noticed that if I just naturally follow my intuition, I am already living my chart, and that my chart is often in alignment with how I’m living my life, and vice versa. If I check “what is my purpose,” I’m already living it. If I want to know what’s next for me, I can already feel it and see that I’m on the right path according to the alignment of the stars and planets.

Astrology apps have replaced my need to constantly seek outside counsel. I don’t check them often, and sometimes it’s nice to affirm I’m on the right path. It’s a tool.

Here are the apps I like:

The Pattern: Great for checking your compatibility with friends, lovers, family, and potential business partners, and it gives insight into your upcoming transits, what you could be going through now and in the future.

Galactic Planner: I recently started using this. I was reluctant to get this app because I had a previous calendar app from Joni Patry that wasn't in alignment for me. Her Galactic Planner is quality work. Less than 24 hours in, I have plenty of good things to say about it.

If you’re interested in going deeper on your journey, the Indian Palm Leaf reading was insightful, yet some parts felt misaligned with my current timing. I appreciated the readers, translators, and organizers, and still, the reading I waited six months to have reminded me that I really can trust myself and my path without thinking someone else knows my path better than I do. It reinforced that I am my best guide. I felt a softening in my compassion and in how I serve, and it helped me feel better about HOW I am serving in my work. Even if the reading triggered me, it was part of my path, because it reminded me how strong and committed I am to working through my karmic debts in this life, and how truly I want the best for myself and others, wherever we are on the paths.

All this to say, we are home. Earth is a good place to live. For now. We can do this. Together.

And as I close, I realized I hadn’t acknowledged myself. I received a Silver Award from the Signal Awards for Best Video Podcast Host! I listened to my inner knowing that I was supposed to enter, so the podcast could land in more people’s hearts, and I am so grateful that my work reached more ears, because this service is meant to help others. Any way I can help humanity with my service, I will. I am grateful to be here, and I’m grateful for you.
